Karachi: April 05: Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that, in view of the expected rains in various districts in the coming days, the provincial government has alerted all relevant institutions. Rain and hailstorms have been predicted in Sukkur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Qambar Shahdadkot. According to the Meteorological Department, the rains may intensify on April 6.
In a statement, he added that, in view of the possible weather conditions, effective drainage arrangements are being ensured in urban areas, while preventive measures are being taken to protect sensitive structures and standing crops.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that instructions have been issued to the relevant institutions to keep the drainage system more effective and functional and to deal with any emergency situation in a timely manner. The Sindh government has fully mobilized the district administration, local bodies, rescue services, and other relevant departments to provide all possible facilities to the public.
He said that people living in low-lying areas should take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said that farmers are being provided with government guidance and assistance in view of the weather situation so that they can take timely steps to protect their crops, and that the Sindh government stands with the farmers while an effective action plan is being formulated to address any possible damage.
