Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi Meets Commander Karachi Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi

KARACHI, September 22: Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi met Commander Karachi Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi at Governor House. During the meeting, matters relating to maritime security, the blue economy and effective utilisation of water resources were discussed.

The Governor Sindh said that Pakistan’s vast maritime resources offered significant opportunities for economic growth and national development. He said the promotion of the blue economy could create new opportunities for employment, investment and economic activity.

He further emphasised the need for an integrated strategy for the protection and sustainable utilisation of water resources. He said special attention was required to the development of maritime resources, fisheries, maritime trade and coastal areas.

Governor Sindh said that besides national defence and security, the Pakistan Navy also had an important role in protecting the country’s maritime resources. He appreciated the services and contributions of the Pakistan Navy towards safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime security and defence.
