President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday urged all provincial governments and stakeholders to collaborate in controlling the spread of malaria and make Pakistan a Malaria free country.

Sindh Minister for Local Government, Town Planning, Public Health Engineering, and Rural Development, Saeed Ghani, chaired the meeting in his capacity as chairman of the steering committee.

He, however, said the Sindh government of Pakistan Peoples Party in the last couple of years had invested much to improve the civic infrastructure of the city.

Ghani said on the occasion that the new Sindh government of PPP would do its best to resolve the civic issues of the people of Karachi and the rest of Sindh.

Ghani directed the officials concerned that verification of the presence of municipal staffers should be carried out till the level of union committees.
